An Impressive and Beautiful Bronze and marble Mantel Clock.
The bronze sculpture with the subject of Lorenzo de Medici, Duke of Urbino in Florence.
After the original by Michelangelo in the Chapel of San Lorenzo in Florence Italy.
The bronze sculpture still with the original dark chocolate brown original patination, the bronze is beautifully scrolling around the marble base finished with a bronze plinth.
Still with the original beautiful enamel coloured dial and with silvered complicated hands.
The movement is stamped for Gustav Becker in Freiburg, also with the stamp for Medaille D’or which Gustav Becker got in 1854.
Interesting is to see that Gustav Becker made this movement in the style of the French clocks of that period.
The fully cleaned original movement is striking on a bell every 30 minutes, interesting is to see that the movement still has the original early platform escapement.
All over in original condition with beautiful original patination, there are no missing pieces or repairs.

A Magnificent Typical Dutch School Jan Kriege Hammered Copper table lamp c.1920/25
Signed with the master stamp of Jan Kriege.
This is the fourth large copper object known by us by Jan Kriege.
The shade hammered out of one sheet of copper and also the complete base hammered out of one sheet of copper .
The other three objects, two of them are in Museums and the third one, a hanging light is also in our own collection. One large vase 100cm high is in the town Museum in Woerden the birth place of Jan Kriege The Netherlands (where there is also a street named after him)
the other vase 80cm high is in the collection of museum Boymans van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
Already in his working time the town Museum in Amsterdam (Stedelijk Museum) was interested in his work and Jan Kriege became a respected craftsman who was also known outside The Netherlands.
A large part of his work was completely destroyed in 1940 by an airraid.
Our table lamp is complete and in fully original condition, the fabric has been renewed.
Jan Kriege 1884-1944 was a sculptor silversmith/goldsmith and jewellery designer, with a speciality in hand hammered copper objects.

The war monument is carved in 1928-29.

Signed with the master stamp of Jan Kriege.
This is the third large copper object known by us by Jan Kriege, hammered out of one sheet of copper, the other two objects are in Museums, one large vase 100cm high in the town Museum in Woerden the birth place of Jan Kriege The Netherlands (where there is also a street named after him)
the other vase 80cm high is in the collection of museum Boymans van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
Already in his working time the town Museum in Amsterdam ( Stedelijk Museum) was interested in his work and Jan Kriege became a respected craftsmen who was also known outside The Netherlands.
A large part of his work was completely destroyed in 1940 by a airraid.
The shade of our lamp is also hammered out of 1 sheet of copper, our lamp is complete and in fully original condition, even the fabric has the lead small weights to stretch the fabric downwards.
The part against the ceiling has place for 4 fittings.

The wooden case veneered with one of the first type of simulated tortoiseshell and ivory celluloid, it is not possible to see the difference between real tortoiseshell and our clock.
It is very rare to find this type of clock still with the original glass dome and stand of the same make.
The movement is completely cleaned and has the brocot escapement with jewelled pallets, seconds hand and is in fully working order, still with the original pendulum, striking on a bell every 30 minutes, both the dials are enamel.
